To remain eligible for an OP (Overall Position) or equivalent (visa students), Year 12 students must sit the QCS Test. However, we recognise that the standard procedures may not suit all students, especially those with special needs.
If a student’s access to the test is affected by a medical condition, an impairment or exceptional circumstances, they may be eligible for special provision.
There are four types of special provision available.
| Type of special provision | Who may apply | Closing date |
|---|---|---|
| Variations to test conditions Students may apply if their access to the test will be affected by a medical condition, an impairment or exceptional circumstances. We may approve variations such as enlarged testpapers, restbreaks during the test or use of a computer. |
|
Applications based on long-term impairment or exceptional circumstances close on 21 May 2012. We will process applications after 21 May if we have sufficient time to process the application, and:
|
| Exemption Students may apply if they are unable to access the test because of an impairment or exceptional circumstances. |
|
| Type of special provision | Who may apply | Closing date |
|---|---|---|
| Exemption for unexpected absence from the test Students may apply if they were unavoidably absent from all or part of the test, e.g. because of illness. |
|
Applications close on 3 October 2012. We will consider late applications if:
|
| Declaring a test grade null and void Students may apply if they sat all four testpapers and believe that illness or exceptional circumstances significantly affected their performance during all or part of the test. |
