Syllabus development
The QSA has in place a cohesive and cumulative framework to teaching, learning and assessment across P-12.
Syllabus design principles
The QSA has a "low-definition" approach to syllabus design based on informed prescription and informed professionalism. This approach is detailed in:

QSA curriculum advisory structures
The QSA is committed to working with Queensland teachers and school administrators to:
- achieve high-quality, high-equity curriculum P-12 that is responsive to the changing state and national curriculum landscape
- provide quality, innovative and future-focused products and services to all Queensland educational communities.
Teachers and school administrators can actively participate in the QSA curriculum advisory structures through membership of a Learning Area Reference Committee (LARC) or writing teams.

Decision-making criteria for senior syllabuses
The following criteria are used to make decisions about the development, maintenance and revision of senior syllabuses for Years 11-12. Their use ensures that schools have access to a set of senior syllabuses that build from the learning in Years 1-10, and prepare students well for the full range of post-school destinations.
