Applying for QCE course recognition
Owners of courses of study (or their authorised agents) may apply for their courses to be recognised by the QSA.

Course criteria and standards
Courses submitted for recognition must meet QSA criteria and standards. They should generally:
- describe learning opportunities that in the opinion of the QSA are of senior secondary standard and enhance further learning, employment or community engagement
- include details about:
- what learning experiences the learner will undertake
- what evidence of achievement is required
- the processes and principles used to make reasonable, accountable and transparent decisions about achievement
- the time component for completion of the course
- comply with legislative requirements.

How to apply
- Before applying, contact us to discuss the requirements for recognition. See below for our contact details.
- Read and complete the following application form:
- Supply 2 copies of the course.
- Post your completed application to the Recognition Unit, Queensland Studies Authority, PO Box 307, Spring Hill, Qld 4004 or fax it to (07) 3221 2553.
Review process
Applications are first reviewed by a panel of experts, then by an independent committee which advises the QSA Governing Body. The Governing Body makes the final decision as to whether a course is recognised, its type and the credits it may contribute to the QCE.
Applications are generally processed within 3 months of receipt. You will be notified in writing of the outcome.
Appeals
Unsuccessful applications may be appealed. Contact us for more information on the appeal process.
