Early Childhood (2007) (Authority-registered subject)
This study area specification (SAS) develops a range of practical skills through knowledge and understanding of human development; the needs and rights of children; the value of play; concepts of childhood; the role of parents; the importance of families; behaviour management; special needs; workplace health and safety; industry practice and expectations; and legislation and ethical issues.
In 2008, this SAS will be used with Year 11 students only. With Year 12 students, use Early Childhood Practices (2002).

Study plans
Schools must submit a study plan by the end of Term 1 in the first year of teaching the course.
